Another KSCOPE has come and gone, and once again, there was little disappointment. Got to meet with lots of old friends and meet even more new ones. I don’t think there is any need to tell everyone how great KSCOPE is, there are lots of resources available on the topic, but let me just say, it is the best conference in the EPM world.
I’ll keep this post short, i just want to call out a few bullet items that I thought were key takeaways.

- On-Prem is not dead, Oracle said they plan to continue to support On-Prem and that they understand there is a need for it, enhancements will come to On-Prem, but just lagged behind Cloud
- Hybrid cubes rule them all! Hybrid cubes are the future, and everyone needs to learn to love them. Note that as of today, using Hybrid cubes in Planning is NOT supported
- HPCM Management Ledger application type is going to be the future of that product, even if it’s called Performance Ledger. This is the application type that will be coming to the cloud.
- ESSBASE on the cloud looks awesome, and I can’t wait to see more of it. Creating and managing cubes through Excel? Yes, it’s a thing (maybe).
- Cloud, cloud, oh and Cloud, things are moving there, and it’s not a bad thing.
- KSCOPE17 will be in San Antonio, you need to attend.
